Bra Size Guide for Pakistani Women: How to Measure at Home

If you've ever bought a bra that looked perfect online but felt completely wrong once it arrived, you're not alone. Most women are wearing the wrong bra size without even knowing it — and it's rarely the bra's fault. It usually comes down to one thing: nobody ever taught us how to measure properly.

The good news is that finding your correct size takes less than five minutes, a measuring tape, and a mirror. No fitting room needed.

Why Getting Your Size Right Actually Matters

A well-fitted bra does more than look good under your clothes. It affects your posture, how your outerwear sits, and honestly, how comfortable your entire day is. A band that rides up, straps that dig in, or cups that gap or spill over aren't just annoying — they're signs of the wrong size, not a bad bra.

Since most online shopping in Pakistan happens without a fitting room, learning to measure yourself correctly is the single most useful thing you can do before ordering.

Step 1: Measure Your Band Size

Wrap a soft measuring tape snugly around your ribcage, directly under your bust, keeping it parallel to the ground. It should sit firmly but not dig in — you should be able to slide two fingers underneath comfortably.

Round the number to the nearest even number. That's your band size.

Step 2: Measure Your Bust Size

Now wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, again keeping it level and not pulled tight. This is your bust measurement.

Step 3: Calculate Your Cup Size

Subtract your band measurement from your bust measurement. The difference in inches tells you your cup size:

  • Less than 1 inch: AA
  • 1 inch: A
  • 2 inches: B
  • 3 inches: C
  • 4 inches: D
  • 5 inches: DD/E

So if your band is 34 and the difference is 2 inches, you're a 34B.

A Few Fitting Tips Worth Knowing

  • Sizes vary between brands. A 34B in one brand may fit differently in another — always check the specific size chart for the product you're ordering.
  • Re-measure every 6-12 months. Weight changes, and even everyday factors like fabric stretch over time, can shift your size.
  • When between two sizes, size up in the band and down in the cup, or check if the brand offers half sizes.
  • The band does most of the support work, not the straps. If you're constantly tightening your straps, your band size is likely too big.
